I just bought a ukulele!
Well I’ve been thinking about it for a while, and I finally did it. I bought a ukulele. Man I’m excited!
I don’t have it yet, I ordered in online from Amazon (naturally, what other website sells everything under the sun?) and I should have it in a couple of days.

Like I said, I’ve been toying with the idea of buying one for a while, and at the weekend I was talking to a musician friend and he happened to mention out of the blue that he’d bought one, and he told me how great they are, so that kinda clinched it for me. (At the time, I was actually trying to convince him to let me play with his band in August. Maybe I can find some ukulele duets online somewhere…?)
The one I’ve ordered is only a cheap one (£20 including express shipping) but I just want to see if it’s for me. I think I’m definitely gonna love it, but I’ll save up and get a super nice one eventually. Mahalo are supposed to be pretty good quality though, at least for beginners.
When it arrives I will take some pictures to show you, and of course I will record myself playing some songs. Can we say “I’m Yours by Jason Mraz”? Oh yeah, it’s gonna be sweet. I think I’m gonna learn it from this kid:
How cute is that? I of course have the advantage of speaking English as a first language, but that kid has mad skills for a 5 year old.
